If one day you could wear a Song Dynasty outfit and hold a handmade fan, stepping into a classical space, would you feel closer to the lives of people a thousand years ago?
The Xinchuan Creative Workshop presents “Journey through a Thousand Years of Elegance | Handmade Fan × Song Dynasty Clothing Aesthetic Experience.” We hope to not only appreciate traditional culture but also to allow everyone to personally engage and feel the warmth of Eastern aesthetics.
The event will be led by Assistant Professor Ji Yuanzhi from the Chinese Language and Culture Center at Hong Kong Baptist University, who will introduce the culture of hand fans and the clothing of the Song Dynasty. Attendees will explore the history, craftsmanship, and life aesthetics, understanding how ancient people integrated culture into their daily lives.
In addition to the cultural lecture, we will showcase 12 sets of Song Dynasty clothing, covering various styles from the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties, including ceremonial and everyday attire. Participants will have the opportunity to try on these outfits and take memorable photos, creating their own classical memories.
Each participant can choose one of four unique hand fans to create:

🎐 Song Brocade Pearl Fan
🍃 Rubbing Fan
From cultural lectures and hands-on experiences to trying on Song Dynasty clothing, in just two short hours, you will embark on a cultural journey that spans a millennium.
