🐞 “Ladybug’s New Outfit” 🐞
Today, we had a wonderful time with the children playing with “dot stickers,” helping our adorable ladybugs dress up in their new outfits! ✨
🔴 Why do we practice sticker placement?
What seems like a simple task of “peeling” and “sticking” is actually a significant challenge for toddlers in the nursery stage:
• Fine motor skills development: Children need to use the strength of their index finger and thumb to precisely peel off the small stickers from the backing, which helps enhance the stability of their small hand muscles.
• Hand-eye coordination integration: Children must observe the position of the circles on the ladybug’s back and accurately control their hands to align them, which aids in developing their visual spatial awareness.
• Focus and sense of order: Through this quiet process, children learn to calm down and complete the task at hand, fostering initial patience and a sense of accomplishment.
❤️ Teacher’s observation notes
In the photos, you can see that each child has their unique style. Some children insist on placing the dots neatly, while others creatively arrange them, and the process is truly heartwarming.
Each time they “align” and “press down,” it is a joyful exploration of success for the children. We do not expect perfection in placement; what matters to us is the confident smiles the children display throughout the process!
